3. Original Character Information
Name: Dorian Alexander Carver He often uses the alias David Lewis.
PB:Hawksley Workman
Journal: SomePartsBroken
Age: 244, looks to be 28.
Appearance: Dorian stands at a good six two. He was tall for his day in age. He was blessed with a lovely tan when he was human but since his turning he is a bit paler then the normal man lucky enough that his tanned body losing pigment at death didn't make him as pale as some vampires. It's a little easier for him to walk among humans if he chooses too. He has a semi-athletic build, he's stronger then he looks due to being one of the embraced but at first glance he's not someone many people would blink an eye at. He has green eyes and thick black curly hair, his hair often has a mind of it's own if not gelled down it will pretty much go as it pleases. It can be slicked down to look dignified as Dorian had often done in his human life but since his turning he has found very little reason to care how his hair looks. If it bothers him he will wear hats to keep it out of his face.

Dorian projects a certain image, the 'I don't give a damn.' look. Between the wild curls and the forever lingering five o'clock shadow and often times clashing colors. This has little to do with not caring as much as he's not kept up with fashion trends as much as he has books and musical fads. He is someone the girls could easily get ahold of and make over and he wouldn't fight them, he doesn't mind being a barbie so to say. He has no tattoos and the only scars he have is one on his lower back from a nasty spill he took in his youth and the bite marks from his embrace.

AS a side effect of his upbringing and time periods in which he was most active the vampire tends to walk tall. He stands at proper posterior and will more then often while having a conversation keep his hands behind his back. He does great bows and even removes his hat when a lady is present. He puts of the air of ever the gentlemen. He waits till his turn to speak and will make eye contact when spoke too, this one is more a trick then his manners, one of his powers has to do with using his voice to control people so it's easier to trick people into falling for it if he always looks everyone in the eyes just just those he charms.

When bored he gives signals more then speaking it. A finger rested against his cheek or his eyes glazing over a bit usually meaning he's slipped off to day dreams and doesn't really give a damn about the conversation at large. However he thinks it is rude to admit boredom so he tends to keep it too himself even if it's made blindingly clear that he is not interested.

Home World: Dorian like Nott and Diana comes from the old White Wolf world of darkness.

History: Dorian was born the only son and oldest child of a family of merchants in the new world about 15 years before the revolution. After the birth of his twin little sisters he became the man of the house as his mother died in child birth and his father became a worthless drunkard and lay about. When the revolution came his uncle convinced his father to help fight for the freedom of the budding country. His father feel in battle.

When he turned twenty he married the daughter of a wealthy banker named Katherine. Though the wedding was like most done for money and power Katherine and Dorian did fall in love before they were married and lived quite happily. Dorian sold over the store to his aunt and uncle and went to work for her father about the time Katherine had the first of their two kids. All while still raising his sisters. One late rainy night Dorian woke to the sound of his wife's muffled screams. It was too dark to see but she assured him she just had a bad dream and convinced him she just wanted to be held then more... After sleeping with who he thought was Katherine the woman leaned in and whispered "Didn't even realize she was dead beside you did you?" She stood and left by the time he got the lantern lit Dorian was graced with not only his wife's bloody corpse at his side but as he moved through the house his son and daughter and sisters as well.

He was arrested and put on death row, as their were no witnesses to confirm his tale.

The night before his execution the woman from his room returned. He didn't even get a real chance to fight her, weak from his stay in prison and just ready to die he let her bite him and woke hours later in a carriage being informed he was going to be her childe and her husband. That she wanted what Katherine had... For 80 years he stood unhappily at her side due to being enchanted by a blood bond forced upon him. Meanwhile he was learning from her friends from other clans Maria from the Lasombra and Matthew of the Brujah. It was through them he grew stronger and tried to work past the insanity that came with his blood line, sadly to little avail. After killing Phoebe and burning down their home he ran off with Maria for another seventy years he was forced to flee as her clan didn't want the Malkavian hanging around pretending to be one of them. He booked passage to California.

He spent most of the rest of his years here he grew more and took in two retainers, a woman he almost feel in love with named Alexia and a young Mafiosa named Michael. These two were his life and he set everything up around them. Building wealth and a underground network that seemed quite impressive until their deaths. His influence dwindled without them but he could still find help due to the stories behind his name that lingered. He mostly stayed to the shadows and learned the occult until a rumor caught his attention. All the vampires in Phoenix Arizona had vanished. He was curious enough to drive out and see the aftermath...

Full History

Powers/Talents: A detailed list of Dorian's powers and abilities.
Personality: The easiest way to start would be to start with how Dorian was when he was alive, however that just wont do as he's changed and molded over the ages. So instead, I'll just get on with it.

Dorian is a bit unhinged even when not going off the deep end. He has long since quit caring what people think about him or the things he does. He considers himself free from the binds that hold most people into most standards, he does believe in being kind and good to those around him as being rude is simply unbecoming. He will do anything and everything for a person if they catch his eye, however this goes as far as hurting people they love if they are hurt by those people. An example of this is with Alexis Jordan one of his retainers he killed every single suitor that ever came for her hand until her death for worry of her being hurt though he himself saw no romantic interest in her he merely didn't see a soul worthy of her and never admitted to her that he was the one behind these acts for fear she might reject him for it. Dorian has a strong will to love and protect, however this will is sometimes beyond what people would call okay. He has and always will expect the worst the happen. He beleives himself to be a good man but he knows the things he does are bad and always expects a horrible out come even if there is no possible way it could have happened.

Dorian has long since accepted that he is no longer normal, he walks with his own moral code. He believes himself to be a good man at heart despite his flaws. He sometimes has to eat the organs of those he feeds from to get substance from the blood it's just something that he's had to deal with since his very making. It's a problem but he doesn't know how to fix it, luckily it's not every time he eats just every now and then his body will demand more and he'll lose it and kill his prey. This combined with the fact he feels true sorrorw for those he hurts drives him to repent by trying to help others to make up for the pain he's caused. He is in no means like Angel. He does not fight crime in the night to save souls. He does what he can when he finds someone in danger but he doesn't often look for it. He suffers from a derangement of Manic Depression, this doesn't mean he is just a big ball of emo. Though he can be, after feedings and defeats he often drops into heavy depressions but what Manic depression is more extreme mood swings. One moment he will be calm, the next hyper as can be and at the drop of a hat he could lose his temper or burst into tears. This doesn't happen all the time. Like most vampires he's learned ways to keeping it a little more under wraps but if he's stressed or upset it completely makes itself known.

Things that have stuck with him from his mortal life are the fact he's quite brilliant and insightful, which has only become stronger as he was embraced though some of it gets jumbled in the mess in his head. He has a midis touch when it comes to failing businesses and always has. He can see the profit in things most would ignore. From his parents grocery store when he was a boy to blues clubs on the delta in the early 1900 and helping a struggling mafia family build themselves into a feared family in the 1940s-1960s. He sees potential in everything and knows that if he puts his mind to something he can make something out of it. Even if he gets little or nothing in return. He's the type that once his minds set that's it. He's devoted to the idea and wont stop until it's completed even if no one else holds interest at the end he would know he did it. This goes for most things outside of other kindred. He has never embraced another, he has never offered the world of the night to another living soul for fear of them rejecting him the way he rejected his own sire. Granted he would not be as twisted as she and use a blood bond to force loyalty. The idea alone scares him enough to keep him from it. He is fully prepared to do as he's done for ages and keep walking the night alone.

He still projects himself as ever the gentlemen if he can. Hands behind his back when he speaks most of the time, standing and removing his hat when a lady is present and opening doors. Even if most of these traits have mostly died out these are the traits he was raised with in his mortal years and spent a good chunk of his un-life following. So even as time has changed he refuses to change these ideas. The ideas he has changed however are the fact that he knows now that women are quite capable of handling themselves despite what he used to be taught and know. He will not stand in the way of a woman fighting unless she asks for help or clearly needs a hand and in that respect he would only help even the field no more. He is not the type to force himself into a situation unless he cares about the person. Then it's a whole other ball game.
Why would your character be chosen? Despite his flaws and the beast under the surface Dorian is a sweet man, brilliant to a fault and oddly insightful as most Malkavians are. He is someone who knows how to be a leader and can see how to turn a profit out of things most might ignore. If something catches his attention he will do everything he can to see it succeed. He's the type that doesn't give up easily.
How much does your character know about nonhumans? Being a vampire who spent a good twentish years studying the occult after spending a century and a half already being a vampire it's safe to say that Dorian knows a whole lot about vampires and werewolves and other such creatures of the world he comes from sadly however. I highly doubt he would know anything at all about the Nysgods.
Why this character: Why this character? Honestly, because I made him solely to play in this game with. Playing off of Nott and Diana sparked inspiration in me to give them and others someone else form that world without the bounds a canon character holds. Someone completely new with a history unfolding through hundreds of years and problems and ideas that could help shake things up for not only myself but for those involved. I purposely gave him a defect that will raise the hackles of the ideally good characters and possibly bring down the darker characters to try and use his issues to help their own plans. I could be completely wrong and if I am I'll apologize. However I wanted to get a character in the game that didn't walk the line of good but doesn't dance along evil as well. Kind of like Doyle he walks the middle, but unlike Doyle he does so while coated in the blood of those he's accidentally killed. A manic depressant soul forever tortured by what he is and what he must do to survive.

It seems pretty damn fun to me, I could see myself playing him for ages. You know unless plot says I gotta let him be killed off then I'll have to let it happen.

4. Samples
First-Person: Years ago I used to sit and watch the moon praying to the lord above to strike me down for my wicked ways. And now here I gaze at the purple night sky and wonder what this world holds for me. Why a creature like myself would be called to this world. Why I was called forth to this world, to marry a prince? No, I doubt that. I am not the type to marry another man... and that one time with Matt doesn't count, as their was a lady involved. Gods I'm giving away secrets again. Please ignore that I said that. The point goes back to the fact that I feel a grievous mistake has been made.

I am not human anymore, I have not been for almost two and a half centuries. I saw the birth of the Americas and the fall of the city Phoenix burned like it's name sake. And now I am here, in a strange new land being told these things?

It's almost too much for a man to shoulder. All I wanted was some peace, to be left to my own devices, clearly that's too much to ask.

Third-Person: Dorian meets Devi D in an alleyway.
Third Sample: Dorian on Dear-Mun
